A general question regarding the nude human figure in art?
Do you feel it’s important? If so, how? If not, why? I’m not interested in pornography, simply the role of the nude human figure in art, if there is one. Thank you.
I myself am an artist and have found life-drawing and painting to be really important to the work I make. Regardless of how much one is delving into the psyche and working from the subconscious, basic drawing skills are still very important, and life studies are still a great way of improving these. I just wanted to know what others thought.
No, I do not consider it important anymore…
Well, unless one wishes to end up living ones whole life
working for a museum restoring mouldy ink drawings and etchings
for no more real pay than a Playboy Bunny.
Artists today, know form but that’s not what really intrigues them.
They are more interested in the interior landscapes of of the subconscious and psyche.
